List of products by brand Pierre Morey
"Domaine Morey is located in the fantastic commune of Meursault, at the end of the Côte de Beaune, home of Chardonnay, within the Côte d'Or. The Domaine is masterfully managed by Pierre Morey, who in 1991 passed to a totally organic and in 1997 made the definitive transition to biodynamic agriculture. Today Pierre, helped by his daughter Anne, works about 11 hectares of vineyards owned by the municipalities of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Since 1992 the Moreys also have a companies such as "" négociant-éleveur "", called Morey-Blanc, through which they buy grapes from third parties, dealing with winemaking, bottling and marketing.
Pierre Morey is a traditionalist, an innovator, a terroirist as he likes to define himself. The origins of the Morey family date back to the 16th century in Burgundy and from 1793 to Meursault. Each generation has worked the vineyards and made wine from local grapes. At a very young age, Pierre's father, Auguste Morey, became a sharecropper for the Domaine Des Comte Lafon, a legendary producer in the area, the year was 1935, and all of Comte Lafon's vineyards (14 hectares) were divided between nine growers. At the time, the situation of the wine industry was at an all-time low, after the economic crisis of 1929, vineyard owners had a lot of difficulty in moving forward. It was at the end of 1971, when Pierre established the Domaine Pierre Morey, before that time, all the wines produced by his family, sold under the Auguste Morey-Genelot label, whose last vintage produced is in 1983. Over the course of 20 years, from 1988 to the end of July 2008, Pierre Morey becomes the cellar master at the Domaine Leflaive, of Puligny-Montrachet. During this period he deals with all the technical aspects (vines and cellars) of Domaine Leflaive as well as his own Domaine and his small business as a shopkeeper-eleveur. To date, among the best wines produced by this fantastic domain we remember the "Volnay Santenots 1er Cru", the "Meursault Blanc Les Tessons" and the great Meursault Blanc Perrieres 1er Cru, all wines that speak of history and tradition.
