The tradition of the Cantina di Terlano is centered on the historic vinification in wooden barrels, but another determining factor is the "sur lie" method, in which the wines mature - often for years - on fine lees, before moving on to the bottle where - without haste - they can stop growing. Thanks to this slow aging, the wines acquire more character and complexity. What matters to us, in fact, is to bring out not the primary aromas, but rather the more complex secondary and tertiary ones.

In the middle of this South Tyrolean wine region, the Terlano Winery was founded in 1893. Today the Cantina di Terlano is a cooperative with over 200 members which includes an area of ​​240 hectares, 70% of which is cultivated with white grape varieties. The fruits of this careful and natural cultivation are vinified, with care and intuition, in modern cellars. Thanks to its wines, rich in minerals, the Terlano area is often compared to the French wine regions. The characteristics of Terlano wines, fruity and with a slightly sour note, lead experts to compare them with vintage champagnes. Every year, the wines of the Cantina di Terlano are awarded with several top-level awards.
